I decided that yellow shoes might be tacky- especially considering I haven't been able to find a darker yellow pair. I thought it would be cool to find light blue heels for my "something blue".<br /><br />This is not easy. Most of the blue shoes look like this:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.zappos.com/images/z/1/1/1/1115732-3-MULTIVIEW.jpg?"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 480px; height: 360px;" src="http://www.zappos.com/images/z/1/1/1/1115732-3-MULTIVIEW.jpg?" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Electric blue. Way too BLUE. I was hoping for something lighter and more romantic.<br /><br />Behold Louboutin's Blue:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.christianlouboutincom.com/images/Christian%20Louboutin%20Glitter%20Peep-Toe%20Pump11.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 500px; height: 500px;" src="http://www.christianlouboutincom.com/images/Christian%20Louboutin%20Glitter%20Peep-Toe%20Pump11.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Amazing. But 726 dollars. Not so amazing. The search continues. Please send any and all suggestions.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-76778105145143627512010-04-12T19:11:00.000-07:002010-04-12T19:54:25.962-07:00Trial Run<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiY_hUF2r_h0yFY4nGftWbOFuQ1LRsph8rtP_KSnW1iyBEGCm1JBe1OkvR0OGCk3uUvDgPxal9YerEoMSFMUJMWSrXCKetm2c4rb5NBPHfZ15av71KvQTDdVmcopNR0jR8GnJPnzAm-ro5/s1600/IMG_0176.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiY_hUF2r_h0yFY4nGftWbOFuQ1LRsph8rtP_KSnW1iyBEGCm1JBe1OkvR0OGCk3uUvDgPxal9YerEoMSFMUJMWSrXCKetm2c4rb5NBPHfZ15av71KvQTDdVmcopNR0jR8GnJPnzAm-ro5/s400/IMG_0176.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459449971257004722" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Over the Easter break I went for my first hair and make up trial. I have blogged in the past about <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/07/curly-qs.html">my fear of wedding hair</a> - but in the end it wasn't that scary at all. I tried somewhere totally new so I wouldn't have any " I am scared of my stylist" pressure. I brought a ton of photos for hair and make up and had a consultation first. Here's the photos I brought for hair:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1qhXwa1iZ2h-taC5ApqHo4DEG9TkxDhALfAMMxaW5LBLpcO1b9Qq7_qiN9qxVdkh4LtyoK_mxKhS9fYZhTpNoiAKhw51lQX50kIIhyXgXR24QIQHvm-OYIARm194ZjbK78rsRw0EDKBmq/s1600/Page_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 309px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1qhXwa1iZ2h-taC5ApqHo4DEG9TkxDhALfAMMxaW5LBLpcO1b9Qq7_qiN9qxVdkh4LtyoK_mxKhS9fYZhTpNoiAKhw51lQX50kIIhyXgXR24QIQHvm-OYIARm194ZjbK78rsRw0EDKBmq/s400/Page_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459445159395699090" border="0" /></a><br /><br />As you can see I was looking for a low bun with loose curls. Here are the make- up inspiration pics:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhal55XqptESIfr9GdQMfD6uEGJIxjhvdngqmHQN5j96X88pKrkZqnHz2f1CS_DVx2oNYLs76zBFWoLOpdiNFuJvYKOkkBGN2nmb_AJfqQma3C2rCsybhS3Oq9TYr7PVL8UnFyJEcKu1HKF/s1600/Page_1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 309px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhal55XqptESIfr9GdQMfD6uEGJIxjhvdngqmHQN5j96X88pKrkZqnHz2f1CS_DVx2oNYLs76zBFWoLOpdiNFuJvYKOkkBGN2nmb_AJfqQma3C2rCsybhS3Oq9TYr7PVL8UnFyJEcKu1HKF/s400/Page_1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459447431804594130" border="0" /></a>I was really just looking for a golden , natural look. I was pretty happy with the outcome. The stylist tried styling my hair naturally and with a curling iron. Suprisingly , I actually liked the curling iron look better. It was more polished and softer than my natural curls.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-c_-ZV4qlraPcUExhiqKgyGVTIsBYibLev3cYFUQZFSo2bLtXLE7zsrU-Lz1aADtcnuAmW2HldfvooNFG0DtgDPk4ag8eVfFzlSoXnpxjqNOEa4JFsQbGhQGS_PRoKKFhamBXUx53iFlw/s1600/IMG_0174.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-c_-ZV4qlraPcUExhiqKgyGVTIsBYibLev3cYFUQZFSo2bLtXLE7zsrU-Lz1aADtcnuAmW2HldfvooNFG0DtgDPk4ag8eVfFzlSoXnpxjqNOEa4JFsQbGhQGS_PRoKKFhamBXUx53iFlw/s400/IMG_0174.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459448313421044306" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixh5My3ftgWWUQ2XezbYk7v3qYdQSBo-chG8PF42r_VcJN7ORcCfmGl02FOpV5wW_AtneGuq0TVDPq1IKp1qLa2SlSfJpaHKUlpSC_WfHvPs0Tlhm6-HVQO6T6TtqZiHviwN2_mPvifQ_O/s1600/IMG_0172.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixh5My3ftgWWUQ2XezbYk7v3qYdQSBo-chG8PF42r_VcJN7ORcCfmGl02FOpV5wW_AtneGuq0TVDPq1IKp1qLa2SlSfJpaHKUlpSC_WfHvPs0Tlhm6-HVQO6T6TtqZiHviwN2_mPvifQ_O/s400/IMG_0172.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459448329520829890" border="0" /></a><br />Please ignore the odd "blue steel" look on my face. I wasn't IN LOVE with it, but I thought it was a really good start. I may try one more place before I settle here. If I do go with this place I want<br />- more volume on top of my head<br />- less face make up<br />- golden tones on my eyes<br /><br />I am also now re-considering a silken flower rather than a headband.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-11805343810968912412010-04-10T06:20:00.000-07:002010-04-11T19:17:40.946-07:00Just A Little Pink<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essieshop.com/images/PetalPink.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://www.essieshop.com/images/PetalPink.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I am not wild about pink. I think I have made that abundantly clear. But pink has a place at a wedding- my nails. I have been on a active routine to get my nails healthy and a long for the wedding to avoid the arylic look:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essentialnails.com/uploads/images_general/acrylic%20nails%20cms%20picture.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 230px; height: 300px;" src="http://www.essentialnails.com/uploads/images_general/acrylic%20nails%20cms%20picture.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Scary.<br /><br />My routine consists of :<br /><ul><li>vitamin e lotion everyday</li><li>lots of water</li><li>cheapy maincures every 2 weeks<br /></li><li>Nutra nail with green tea extract everyday<br /></li></ul><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.usamedicines.com/products/nutra_nail_hoodia.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="http://www.usamedicines.com/products/nutra_nail_hoodia.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><ul><li>and NO biting</li></ul><br />So far I have been pretty happy with the results. My nails are longer and stronger then they have ever been. I just have to keep it up until June. I have been thinking about polish colors. Here is <a href="http://www.essie.com/products/">ESSIES</a> "wedding line"<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essieshop.com/product_thumb.php?img=images/wedding4pc.jpg&w=115&h=115"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 115px; height: 115px;" src="http://www.essieshop.com/product_thumb.php?img=images/wedding4pc.jpg&w=115&h=115" alt="" border="0" /></a>I don't like the idea of white or beige but these were pretty pinks from the line:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essieshop.com/images/PetalPink.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://www.essieshop.com/images/PetalPink.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essieshop.com/images/bbf_boyfriend.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://www.essieshop.com/images/bbf_boyfriend.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />But I am also not opposed to something a little brighter and more joyful. Like Tart Deco<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essieshop.com/images/tartdeco_withseal.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://www.essieshop.com/images/tartdeco_withseal.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Also endorsed by Oprah. That means it has to be good.<br /><br />I could also go with my old standby Peach Daquiri<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.essieshop.com/images/76.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 275px; height: 275px;" src="http://www.essieshop.com/images/76.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>What do you think. The Dessy Group that is. After abandoning my JCrew dreams I had some serious searching to do. I look everywhere- but need dresses to meet the following criteria:<br /><ul><li>Inexpensive- under $200</li><li>Modern and tea length<br /></li><li>several different styles all in one fabulous yellow shade</li></ul><br />It was a pretty exhaustive search and I was nearly settled on <a href="http://www.simpledress.com/ss/fabrics">Simple Silhouettes</a> but in the end their prices were too high. Although I wasn't paying for each dress it was important were low. Economic time are tough in this city and I really didn't want my wedding to be a crushing financial burden. So, I finally stumbled upon <a href="http://www.dessy.com/">The Dessy Group</a>, a company that includes many brands such as Lela Rose, Alfred Sung, and After Six. I narrowed it down to five dresses and told my ladies to try them all on and I would pick the top three. So without further ado ...the top three dresses:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkMUyLqJPsIp9N2KAIvUTKSIN4Qjsgw6Psd6EZu6R1wZp-a__7USxje6LNomXy04xRg5SXkE6We7e0JBEXL_OkTKAhjeO4ArwYEnQ1SsF5bqOugOfsXOGyZq-fec5bCsK0RneeHgZv21R1/s1600/IMG_0055.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkMUyLqJPsIp9N2KAIvUTKSIN4Qjsgw6Psd6EZu6R1wZp-a__7USxje6LNomXy04xRg5SXkE6We7e0JBEXL_OkTKAhjeO4ArwYEnQ1SsF5bqOugOfsXOGyZq-fec5bCsK0RneeHgZv21R1/s400/IMG_0055.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457158439850002194" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp_9Rqd50cyNzzGF5T2uke8Hbm8hr2k6eXqx67GGm2pn5ffRgvwhOuLM1sOj3uQpDVd1Q-cmSZc1U83Qov2aww4NvBO9IayYNF6_7bByxNYCRz4-9la4dwNF64uD5-PnVlXarQbmE3iVwT/s1600/IMG_0053.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp_9Rqd50cyNzzGF5T2uke8Hbm8hr2k6eXqx67GGm2pn5ffRgvwhOuLM1sOj3uQpDVd1Q-cmSZc1U83Qov2aww4NvBO9IayYNF6_7bByxNYCRz4-9la4dwNF64uD5-PnVlXarQbmE3iVwT/s400/IMG_0053.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457159046007733890" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSElxkMIg95UmFZaeCmCuPK9IV3p0ylMcqf-lAeMgNj-ZhwDmpcpoxADCYdY39VXbvZysFr1Z75rgB80U18y4doT6MSqHj9sNECtsUHRQ8kSZAwXact_strV10KihYWC-Ej1B87f8ygQF0/s1600/IMG_0054.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSElxkMIg95UmFZaeCmCuPK9IV3p0ylMcqf-lAeMgNj-ZhwDmpcpoxADCYdY39VXbvZysFr1Z75rgB80U18y4doT6MSqHj9sNECtsUHRQ8kSZAwXact_strV10KihYWC-Ej1B87f8ygQF0/s400/IMG_0054.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457159142762980962" border="0" /></a><br />And just because I love her and she is special, my maid of honor gets her very own style:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYgEx88VwqG_FuohEyuJ1pliqzB4PRJpqegtURBMFbJ6IZz01wixTmrDTkOP-r1mjQfDZwEDfX580G5jM11LCQQi0Elj6P1eHtPG7VZYn37DT7IV0a2PRUS0mG8_Tq-iz_UjaSTxVSOhnX/s1600/IMG_0050.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYgEx88VwqG_FuohEyuJ1pliqzB4PRJpqegtURBMFbJ6IZz01wixTmrDTkOP-r1mjQfDZwEDfX580G5jM11LCQQi0Elj6P1eHtPG7VZYn37DT7IV0a2PRUS0mG8_Tq-iz_UjaSTxVSOhnX/s400/IMG_0050.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457159597187185746" border="0" /></a><br />All styles are in Peau de Soie in a yellow called Mango! You must assume that my girls are the owners of one of three Cotton Cady frocks- think again.<br /><br />I passed. Big time.<br /><br />Let me explain. The dresses<span style="font-style: italic;"> were </span>lovely but- there was no yellow in the winter collection ! Not even a canary or a lemonade. Nada. Zilch. The bridal coordinator at JCrew hinted that I could wait to the spring, because it would be hard to believe that JCrew would not make a yellow spring gown.<br />I cried. I moaned. I <a href="http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WeddingParties/womens/w_bridesmaids/PRDOVR%7E11428/11428.jsp">considered mint. </a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://images.jcrew.com/erez4/cache/images_onFigure_11_11428_11428_GR6328_m_tif_b56f0bd37c3218f4.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 393px; height: 393px;" src="http://images.jcrew.com/erez4/cache/images_onFigure_11_11428_11428_GR6328_m_tif_b56f0bd37c3218f4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />I considered changing the name of the blog. But in the end I knew I wanted to stick to my original vision of yellow- for better or worse! I knew right away I didn't want to gamble and wait until the spring collection. They wouldn't release colors until the end of March - WAY too late in the year for my girls to look elsewhere if the yellow didn't materialize. Was I right not to gamble??<br /><br />Yep. Check out the<a href="http://www.jcrew.com/flatpages/swatches2.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441792124&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302037389&bmUID=1270576885375"> spring collection</a>. Not a yellow in sight. What did I choose instead??<br /><br />Here's a sneak peak:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.dessy.com/s/i/product/1861/1861-MANG-dts.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 308px; height: 308px;" src="http://www.dessy.com/s/i/product/1861/1861-MANG-dts.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-22049159117298166492010-04-01T16:23:00.000-07:002010-04-01T16:30:06.046-07:00I'm Back!I am back! Not quite sure why I stopped blogging, but I think it had something to do with being crazy, insanely busy at work and coming home a collapsing in a big heap on my couch. But, in the midst of the exhaustion I have been busy at work planning my wedding! SO many things are falling into place and I have recently been feeling sad that I no longer had a place to share it all. I missed coming home and typing away and finding just the right pics. The ironic part about it is- most of my posts up until this point were just ideas! Now,I have actual concrete decisions and elements in place and I can't wait to share it all. I figured after taking a three month break- I would have no more followers and should stop considering it "my wedding blog". Save the Dates. We decided to go with our black and white kiss on the bridge. Our goal was to create a unique Save the Date that was :<br /><br />1. Simple - not too much stress to create, assemble, or mail<br />2. Cheap- there was little to no budget for this project<br />3. Introduced our family and friends to the mood and style of our wedding- romantic Old New York<br /><br />We decided the easiest way to keep it simple and keep prices low would be to go the postcard route. While I swooned over envelopes like these:<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://birdandbanner.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dk_sd_tp2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 514px; height: 377px;" src="http://birdandbanner.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dk_sd_tp2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c71c353ef0120a5fbc79c970c-500wi"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 500px; height: 379px;" src="http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c71c353ef0120a5fbc79c970c-500wi" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />They were simply not in the budget. In the end it was for the best because life has been totally hectic these days so simplicity is best. We wanted the cards to resemble vintage postcards of the Brooklyn Bridge so we used photoshop to tweak the color a fit. The final print came out great and really captured the feel of what we were looking for.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLBUWjrqoQVe2QGoI_VLKMmG0PabNTrZ8YPeXQLmshr7OLbpitT2uYog8LhLxNfo2z-o_2z4tN7bbAB0ipK5aik_Fy73YP9vsOYrVNtuA6hk1wiCwTVUjBpCJNxGpFzg-61pi5I1RvCpSp/s1600-h/SAVE_DATE(3).jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 304px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLBUWjrqoQVe2QGoI_VLKMmG0PabNTrZ8YPeXQLmshr7OLbpitT2uYog8LhLxNfo2z-o_2z4tN7bbAB0ipK5aik_Fy73YP9vsOYrVNtuA6hk1wiCwTVUjBpCJNxGpFzg-61pi5I1RvCpSp/s400/SAVE_DATE(3).jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5413092643235124034" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Actually- the color is off for some reason here- but it looks really cool I swear. I just cooked and cleaned and baked all weekend for a holiday party and feel completely depleted! I know that the preparation and cooking can be exhausting but the conversations, worrying, and vigalance good hosting requires always tires me out more. Not to motion the effect of the wine, sugar, and cheese I consume. It's not not I am complaining, I love parties and am so grateful to all of my guests. It's just that I worry that on my wedding day I am going to be so exhausted from an all day entertaining I won't get to enjoy the small moments of the day.Luckily, I will not be cooking and cleaning the day of my wedding, but I know I will be required to be a gracious bride and entertain our guest. I can already feel the exhaustion. Hopefully, it will be tempered by a glow of excitement and love. Because it is the holiday season and I am fresh off the heels of a lovely holiday event here a delicious and warming hot cider that will ease and please!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.bestcrystal.com/uploads/images/products/WBo12DaysPunchBowlCupsFull.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 650px; height: 449px;" src="http://www.bestcrystal.com/uploads/images/products/WBo12DaysPunchBowlCupsFull.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Hot Brandy Cider<br /><br />2 cups Orange Juice<br />4 1/2 cups apple cider<br />2 1/2 cups cranberry juice<br />4 tablespoons cinnamon<br />3 cinnamon sticks<br />10 cloves<br />6 -12 ounces of Brandy ( depending on crowd, mood, and preference)<br />Orange slices<br /></div><br />Combine the first six ingredients in a large pot and heat on medium for 25-30 minutes. But first a little background. Shortly after our engagement I began to look at photographers for engagement photos. I wasn't even sure what people did with engagement photos, I just knew I wanted them. On a whim I searched <a href="http://www.blogger.com/craigslist.com">craigslist</a> and stumbled upon a fortuitous posting.A photographer looking to expand her portfolio was looking for a fun-loving couple to photograph for FREE. I replied immediately and figure best case scenario we would have great pictures, worse case scenario we would get a dress rehearsal for our engagement pictures. Turns out it was the best case. We were lucky enough to work with lovely <a href="http://http//www.amberknowles.com/index2.html">Amber Knowles</a>. On one lovely April day we got up super early headed over to ...where else.. the Brooklyn Bridge. I decided I didn't want to be too dressed up so I went with a simple yellow <a href="http://www.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/03/81972-y.jpg">Jcrew dress </a>and blue cardigan. I let the fiance choose his own attire but told him to pick a blue shirt. Overall I was pretty happy with our look. So without further ado... a sample of our E-pics.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofxSJT6LOsnxfTjkntd8xeI2Pbbf0m2Gk9AclBSVAQYQ7FO17Wn3FX7PgbQuoJfx-245IUCydd9HS70GJXUA_ZDr6IMPuz7mcFyxeXQBfBZz9lClQLXRkSbbZiKZWO6jmw0lHSaHgjS-C/s1600/maryandjohn27.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; I know I did. Over Thanksgiving a significant milestone passed..the 200 day mark. If that wasn't pressure enough I was met with many a <span style="font-style: italic;">"How's the planning going?", "Did you book a DJ ?", "I haven't receive the STD yet</span>" from family members eager to hear about the progress of our wedding. I'll admit it. I was feeling the pressure big time.<br /><br />After getting the big things out of the way my planning slowed a bit. Plus- all the stress with my <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/11/when-cancer-comes-to-wedding.html">fiance's health </a>left a couple of projects up in the air. It's not that I haven't done anything, its just that I haven't really finished anything. Well, today I decided it was time to slay a couple of big dragons starting with our STD. We have created three different STD layouts a couple of months ago but have yet to decide on one. I will scan all three for you all to see!<br /><br />But- before all that can happen we had to complete the following boring and tedious tasks:<br /><br />1. finish our wedding website<br />2. finish our prelim. guest list<br />3. Update names and addresses<br /><br />All three needed to be complete ASAP, so this morning the fiance and I buckled down and got to work. I have been engaged long enough to know just how many wedding planning products and websites there were out there - so I knew there would be something out there that would help me streamline the process.<br /><br />I figured I would start with by looking at 3 websites I knew offered free websites/planning pages:<br /><a href="http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/">Martha Stewart Weddings</a><br /><a href="http://www.mywedding.com/">MyWedding</a><br /><a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.theknot.com">theknot.com</a><br /><br />I started with Martha because I heard good things about the planning tools and I figured I visit the website weekly anyway so it would be nice if all of my tools were there as well. First thing I realized is that although there were lots of nice planning tools, there was no wedding website option. I was hoping that they had partnered with a hosting website but no luck. This was a BIG strike for me. I am trying to minimize the accounts, subscriptions, and log-ins I have so I really wanted a one- stop shopping place. I tried out some of the tools anyway, but I was unimpressed. The layout was too corporate for me and reminded me of Microsoft Outlook and the guest list manager tool wouldn't work on my Mac. No Martha for me.<br /><br />Next I tried <a href="http://www.blogger.com/mywedding.com">Mywedding.com</a>, a free website hosting site that promised to link your website with planning tools. At first the page looks really promising. It had a modern hop layout that fit my sense of style. It seems to have lots of tools and our website address would not be very long...just mywedding.com/mynamehisnameourlastname . They also offer layouts from Hello Lucky and Wedding Paper Divas. All seemed great until I actually started the design of the site. First - you can't change color, font, or layout. It is not very flexible in terms of photo size or font. Finally, I realized that all of the "tools" were really more like advertisements. It basically asked you to provide lots of information so they could "match" you with vendors . More importantly it had no guest list manager. Not mywedding.<br /><br />Finally I landed at <a href="http://www.blogger.com/theknot.com">theknot. </a>So many of us start our wedding journeys at theknot. I know I did. It was the first place I went to after I was engaged and the launching pad for so many of my wedding plans. But, once I discovered so many other blogs, I sort of forgot about theknot. I hadn't been back in awhile and began to think of it as the "costco " of wedding blogs. But- I gave it a shot. Right away I noticed that it had a lot of nicely designed layouts and a lot of flexibility on colors and font. It took me a while to figure out how to link and add extra pictures but in the end I got it. It also links to their guest list manager - which is awesome. As guest RSVP on the website it will check them off on my list. The guest list also allows you to classify guest as "family" , "wedding party", "single", or "out of town" and then make lists. You can also generate lots of invite lists for the shower, rehearsal dinner, and brunch. After a long day of work the fiance and I managed to use all of theknot's offerings and created a very lovely wedding website and a very manageable and up to date guest list database. The only downside was our wedding website address was way too long:<br />www.theknot/ourwedding/johnandmarytomac ( or something like this)<br /><br />So the fiance had the great idea to buy a domain name and redirect it to the site. While johnandmary.com was $2000, maryandjohnswedding.com was only $ 10. Hooray!<br /><br />In the end theknot.com really came through and me and the fiance had a very productive day. The website is not totally finished but if you want you should ch-ch-check it out.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.maryandjohnswedding.com">MaryandJohnswedding.com</a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-91562714591598965112009-11-25T16:47:00.000-08:002009-11-25T16:58:06.112-08:00Scents of the season<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaNqfh8jpgyoLLhVhSy2KT10RStG7X9B9954eQTV5AWQn6JTdOyvwK11SH2z5DR8XldIbO8UlrNDHi1Hhiam94ayZ5Psun_NguHCeZkwNx-RbzHVwdcNIP3FjyQu7ODaOE277d-Lb0nl6_/s1600/L_1164029.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaNqfh8jpgyoLLhVhSy2KT10RStG7X9B9954eQTV5AWQn6JTdOyvwK11SH2z5DR8XldIbO8UlrNDHi1Hhiam94ayZ5Psun_NguHCeZkwNx-RbzHVwdcNIP3FjyQu7ODaOE277d-Lb0nl6_/s400/L_1164029.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5408208572941173986" border="0" /></a>The holidays are here!! I personally prefer the Thanksgiving scents to the piney and berry scents of Christmas. One of my favorite things to bring to a holiday party is a scented jar candle like these from <a href="http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/retail.jsp">Yankee Candle.</a> This season they have some new scents like :<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfyJpVVGTV03TTMhGH0OhzSAsMkALf_qF1t6st1o7VYmgZnQLlhNeVrFZYHAgMGbfWx2r5yXMVCqgO3RGtkHNyW-JF0ejaKHLpHESu3ijE-nlxog498oaFdh9nF_qMwWqa3Up2Kkvi6Xmp/s1600/L_1163526.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfyJpVVGTV03TTMhGH0OhzSAsMkALf_qF1t6st1o7VYmgZnQLlhNeVrFZYHAgMGbfWx2r5yXMVCqgO3RGtkHNyW-JF0ejaKHLpHESu3ijE-nlxog498oaFdh9nF_qMwWqa3Up2Kkvi6Xmp/s400/L_1163526.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5408208572003760722" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Yum. Veils <span style="font-style: italic;">are</span> funny. It is definitely the most costumey aspect of bridal wear. Maybe a hunded years ago when it was more common for women to wear hats, veils on a bride seemed more natural. For someone who never wears hats or headbands or really any other head related gear- veils are not only funny but a little scary. I have already posted about my <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/07/curly-qs.html">hair issues</a> and veils just complicate this more.<br /><br />In a perfect world I would get one of those ever-so-trendy birdcage veils as they are chic and non-obtrusive.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0049474/large_image.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 310px; height: 300px;" src="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0049474/large_image.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>But, my dress really doesn't call for chic or 1940's. It would seem too disjointed and anachronistic.<br /><br />I know I want something that fastens lower on my head, preferably with a flower or hairpiece. These seem delicate:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY5XCbOcm1z4YpF9lkTQu6OzKzONEVhFfHHbHl2KtEEmYD6GCUXjxu0TLjsu3CFAu2EtIMEp1beKmkNObp1n8Tsp7fWgBmu56j3JwMB5H9DzlYF-M6vLNFXFhMHCDdaAey-W0bneIBYd8w/s1600/f"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 310px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY5XCbOcm1z4YpF9lkTQu6OzKzONEVhFfHHbHl2KtEEmYD6GCUXjxu0TLjsu3CFAu2EtIMEp1beKmkNObp1n8Tsp7fWgBmu56j3JwMB5H9DzlYF-M6vLNFXFhMHCDdaAey-W0bneIBYd8w/s400/f" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407088484632379330" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUrh6WfaikqQcSIhBFhR0QIt-UTQhHQ4Ox9EGyf_06TGEiph4VJpAEWJZ3uYfY3VUfgEPvuFmEor-Df1sHWH4Ewc7FmVY1FSxny0Lvv4Gyqa-M4pw4T-0ax_HMgz4FhnJoYwl3kfVVw9yD/s1600/flower"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 310px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUrh6WfaikqQcSIhBFhR0QIt-UTQhHQ4Ox9EGyf_06TGEiph4VJpAEWJZ3uYfY3VUfgEPvuFmEor-Df1sHWH4Ewc7FmVY1FSxny0Lvv4Gyqa-M4pw4T-0ax_HMgz4FhnJoYwl3kfVVw9yD/s400/flower" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407088490779342258" border="0" /></a><br />But again, the don't seem formal enough for an evening wedding. This look is formal and modern:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0033340/large_image.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 310px; height: 300px;" src="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0033340/large_image.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>But I do not have a cute short bob. I have lots and lots of curls and I think this look wouldn't work with my curly bun.<br /><br />These are the looks I am going for now. I would also like to some how incorporate the lace from my mother's wedding veil, but more on that later.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0019/0025384/large_image.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 260px;" src="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0019/0025384/large_image.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0019/0041137/large_image.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 317px;" src="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0019/0041137/large_image.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0019/0049426/large_image.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 317px;" src="http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0019/0049426/large_image.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />I would still remove the veil for the reception and replace it with a flower or hairpiece. As a city slicker, I use to love to travel to the 'burbs purely so I could go to Target. I love their low prices and trendy gear. I love filling my cart with a bra, black dress pants, macaroni and cheese, body wash, and a Happy Third Birthday Card. It is convient, fast and a good value. We have ( and still are) considered registering at Target for a few items if our registry grows slim. At our wonderful <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/09/otherwised-engaged.html">engagement party </a>a couple of family members gifted us with Target gift cards and Bank gift cards. Somehow, I managed to not blow them on fun un-wedding related products. Good thing too because today I discovered this <a href="http://www.target.com/b/ref=in_br_display-ladders/192-9837500-2219132?ie=UTF8&node=356124011">part</a> of the <a href="http://www.target.com/b/ref=in_br_display-ladders/192-9837500-2219132?ie=UTF8&node=356124011">Target Website</a>. I had no idea they offered wedding planning products.<br /><br />Holy Cow- a whole new reason to love!<br /><br />Look at these adorable boxes for bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnmqMtV4rZCd-Beroi7OTaK58akUKA9cDWZUOSfnhAM2KMvsMX_WsuRV0IlQGbDQY1dtTxPqr1Aix6SZPRHurMJskPRkd942wXQf4EKYyZpUMSYRR1-gxFEaTzHmcDHlSEIWkmlu9RJGuO/s1600/51jqF9DU-EL._AA260_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 260px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnmqMtV4rZCd-Beroi7OTaK58akUKA9cDWZUOSfnhAM2KMvsMX_WsuRV0IlQGbDQY1dtTxPqr1Aix6SZPRHurMJskPRkd942wXQf4EKYyZpUMSYRR1-gxFEaTzHmcDHlSEIWkmlu9RJGuO/s400/51jqF9DU-EL._AA260_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405285605235969362" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4e7hSrJ4pYAESYGBWiylp3tsLr3WwwdzYfKBAo8807uLRBnsbZfew40ZWO8R4Dj-OhUBgbMVREBaPcY66uRL_3sFddUUsN9YNpKsEttZIWdnk_KWkHeR3hhEhAHO3cZlBKFkzU89svbPh/s1600/41AFMGMkSuL._AA400_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4e7hSrJ4pYAESYGBWiylp3tsLr3WwwdzYfKBAo8807uLRBnsbZfew40ZWO8R4Dj-OhUBgbMVREBaPcY66uRL_3sFddUUsN9YNpKsEttZIWdnk_KWkHeR3hhEhAHO3cZlBKFkzU89svbPh/s400/41AFMGMkSuL._AA400_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405285130251175042" border="0" /></a><br />Adorable bags<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2VErIfk7HuqtYQJHdsoiN-VkPSxrF5TYNmLKWjvF5nlxa9GTRsmXY1zd_z7wWl_aeEpyENuSuJ5JM-o076IbKgG9T0XSWcv1sxvPRGebikcJI33wADQTIsULMuL0BQplVDuFbTR1PRKzP/s1600/41+H3zB04oL._AA400_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2VErIfk7HuqtYQJHdsoiN-VkPSxrF5TYNmLKWjvF5nlxa9GTRsmXY1zd_z7wWl_aeEpyENuSuJ5JM-o076IbKgG9T0XSWcv1sxvPRGebikcJI33wADQTIsULMuL0BQplVDuFbTR1PRKzP/s400/41+H3zB04oL._AA400_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405285118160473090" border="0" /></a><br />Lots and lots of candles for my candlepieces<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUItNDsDpHoLV-1wK9f7XfYGvTyNk2DJNG2UAwXpSALfVZpXs9Y2tYQKS6O4tJG2lPDuvficr3VhUz6NfCE_25jiBSFbO8KYnORRzEMwTLwdKm9-wfdfi07zi4_10XZWccPv1EnOjXs-2L/s1600/41sVGiVPI0L._AA400_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUItNDsDpHoLV-1wK9f7XfYGvTyNk2DJNG2UAwXpSALfVZpXs9Y2tYQKS6O4tJG2lPDuvficr3VhUz6NfCE_25jiBSFbO8KYnORRzEMwTLwdKm9-wfdfi07zi4_10XZWccPv1EnOjXs-2L/s400/41sVGiVPI0L._AA400_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405285143343953650" border="0" /></a><br />Table Numbers<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyCEnzynfYwRuyv5vAGRDhNirI8NXYJHoBKGxuBuLEJrxfS8aHbZCRKEMSFjkdDUkYKVOE9EVXz-kyBB2d0rBwLMbBsVET2cPj__fOfmmA7v6x8Ce0KtR0jd2CHgh-ygwJWGozeB4PE9Q7/s1600/313Td2yDvVL._AA260_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 260px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyCEnzynfYwRuyv5vAGRDhNirI8NXYJHoBKGxuBuLEJrxfS8aHbZCRKEMSFjkdDUkYKVOE9EVXz-kyBB2d0rBwLMbBsVET2cPj__fOfmmA7v6x8Ce0KtR0jd2CHgh-ygwJWGozeB4PE9Q7/s400/313Td2yDvVL._AA260_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405286222292999218" border="0" /></a><br />and.....THESE!!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy80uFT9JHEVg7YpR0cY6LCJjJmxjXyXoTUDqY2IIb5W8BAvu67M3GHrXdvW3r7psbyde1IHsMsEi1DjgUHN6mqlAilvaaXcwXw49_TgCLCqNcgTtFtON-NSXvGoTrV4sr4U-RfN_mViqk/s1600/41qvFwQWJPL._AA260_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 260px; height: 260px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy80uFT9JHEVg7YpR0cY6LCJjJmxjXyXoTUDqY2IIb5W8BAvu67M3GHrXdvW3r7psbyde1IHsMsEi1DjgUHN6mqlAilvaaXcwXw49_TgCLCqNcgTtFtON-NSXvGoTrV4sr4U-RfN_mViqk/s400/41qvFwQWJPL._AA260_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405286219586317890" border="0" /></a><br />Love it!! Although this is clearly not a time sensitive project it just one of those little things I think I could get out of the way early and cut down on stress later. Plus- I know once we pay the remainder of our deposits spending extra $$$ on pretty necklaces or clutches will seem frivolous. My goal is for the presents to meet the following criteria:<br /><br />1. Be personal and unique to each girl's personality and style<br />2. All be united in some way AND coordinate with my dresses so they could be worn the day of the wedding.<br />3. Cost NO more than $50 dollars each including shipping, packaging, and wrapping.<br /><br />I also am leaning toward one bigger item as opposed to several smaller items - at least right now. I figure if I purchase one larger item now, if the budget allows I can add to it later. Previously I blogged about finding <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/05/gifts-for-maids-or-matrons.html">adorable clutches</a> for each girl and possibly having them engraved with initals. But on a recent Etsy spin, I stumbled up on these lovely initial charms from a seller called <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32886380">Sweet Lavender and Leaf. </a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ny-image3.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.101238239.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 336px; height: 339px;" src="http://ny-image3.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.101238239.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />And in silver<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ny-image0.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.102259652.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 336px; height: 343px;" src="http://ny-image0.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.102259652.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />But, I really like the way gold would look with our yellow dresses. I thought I could match the gem stone to each girl's birthstone or favorite color.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.97014570.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 336px; height: 334px;" src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.97014570.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.102215430.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 336px; height: 339px;" src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.102215430.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Maybe my MOH could get a special full name disc.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.98738174.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 336px; height: 316px;" src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.98738174.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />After a inquiring a bit with the seller, I think I can find a way to make these fit my "criteria."<br /><br />Maybe even pick a little one up for me too.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.101224570.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 336px; height: 289px;" src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com//il_fullxfull.101224570.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />With a yellow stone of course.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-61868073585196244892009-11-13T15:43:00.000-08:002009-11-13T16:06:17.087-08:00Going For ItEverything is simply more fun when done with friends. Lucky for me my MOH and I are getting married within 6 months of each other. This means lots and lots of wedding planning together- and lots and lots of fun. Recently we both registered at <a href="www.crateandbarrel.com">Crate and Barrel </a>and had fabulous experiences with the staff and their products. While we have a tendency to share everything with each other, we actually managed to not discuss our registries until a couple of weeks after the fact. Over a couple of drinks we discussed the different items we scanned and previewed each other's registries online. Hilariously enough we both discovered that amongst the cookware, wine glasses, and ice buckets lay a particular expensive and larger sized item.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijzfanVEtEbZ80TByAtJEZChV4E5XlKdnRD7rrgE9TT6TGtCS5DaszT6AKMQigrJXda224TN_UR3VaqKrX-a2NiOft1kIdJCrhDIcGRtY7i2PH4hAed5axZxPBz4za6ntF2_suYQCTnMvK/s1600-h/KentonBarCabinetF9.jpeg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 371px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijzfanVEtEbZ80TByAtJEZChV4E5XlKdnRD7rrgE9TT6TGtCS5DaszT6AKMQigrJXda224TN_UR3VaqKrX-a2NiOft1kIdJCrhDIcGRtY7i2PH4hAed5axZxPBz4za6ntF2_suYQCTnMvK/s400/KentonBarCabinetF9.jpeg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403742408133230930" border="0" /></a>My bar and buffet!! (For the record this picture does it no justice. The whole thing opens up and folds out into a bar. Inside has storage for wine glasses, a wine fridge, and lots and lots of party trays. Its a New Yorker's dream space saver!) My MOH had registered for the exact same bar. We both sort of "went for it" knowing darn well no one was going to shell out the $$$ for this bar ( and it is $$$). But she and her fiance, much like us, decided we would throw it up there just in case. Hey you never know who has a interest in my apartment being appropriately lubricated.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-77715306955648917992009-11-12T17:49:00.000-08:002009-11-12T18:49:25.868-08:00Candlepieces<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB4pgSU8DwvDsFXK-XQ-pxlV8XvfE1uyFvA8W9hyphenhyphendmfnO-L2XLJjNhNj6Y6YhPN-VP_sZnLmCZIChVsiBevUiJbV9SKtk4PlMYUG4BwfoebiewoIurCnebOB63eCgVlIrxTzMpUI23K3F0/s1600-h/Floating_wedding_candles.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB4pgSU8DwvDsFXK-XQ-pxlV8XvfE1uyFvA8W9hyphenhyphendmfnO-L2XLJjNhNj6Y6YhPN-VP_sZnLmCZIChVsiBevUiJbV9SKtk4PlMYUG4BwfoebiewoIurCnebOB63eCgVlIrxTzMpUI23K3F0/s400/Floating_wedding_candles.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5403412873606580114" border="0" /></a><br /><br />As time ticks away until the big day I am realizing that I have to slay one of my big scary dragons....centerpieces and flowers. They scare the bejesus out of me because<br /><br />a. I know very little about flowers<br />b. I have a lot of trouble justifying spend lots of money on perishable items not will not end up in my belly!<br /><br />While I haven't quite decided what kind of <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/08/calle-it-lacking.html">flowers </a>we will be having as centerpieces, I know one thing for sure- with a 180 people and 10 table, not every table will be garnished with fresh blooms. The thought of that many centerpieces make dollar signs roll in my eyeballs like a Vegas slot machine. Instead, we will supplement un-flowered table with.. candlepiece. I always loved candles and grew up in a home where big events always equal lots and lots of candles. I have tried to write this post a couple of times now, but it seemed too soon. I wasn't sure how wedding planning and Leukemia were going fit together. I wasn't sure how much my personal struggles mattered to a wedding planning blog. Truthfully, I wasn't sure how much wedding planning I wanted to do anymore.<br /><br />But- I decided that planning a wedding was a lot more than just picking out flowers and color schemes. It was about planning a life together and learning how to communicate, trust, and support each other, no matter what. We decided that our wedding must go on- no matter what. Our desire to share and celebrate our love and friendship with our family and friends is now stronger than ever. If our wedding goes on, so does my planning, my blog, and my promise to be honest, open, and truthful, no matter what.<br /><br />I should mentioned, that every cloud does have a silver lining. My mister was diagnosised with CML Leukemia, which can be treated with a oral chemotherapy pill. While he was hospitalized and out of commission for about a month, he is now back at work and feeling much better. With regular doctor appointments and a strict medication routine, we hope to beat this cancer into remission within a year. There is only one way to look at all of this ....in a positive, sunny, yellow light.<br /><br />So, I will be back, blogging about my yellow wedding - and all the other bumps along the way.<br /><br />Btw- the mister blogs much more elequently about his own illness at johnwtomac.blogspot.com<br /><br />Also- here's a picture of us dressed up for Halloween. Because after reading my own post- I needed to smile :)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFf-2q5Llxu2yKt-8y51DgSBWsuedQx2bcy10exNVXTEgZqnVjNTl27IrGKb0wrW3LWGfjNUbWSO9Mbmsj-Nh8HHhyfwHfK3ize9GG1tLS0elVgSy6efcNK926zw0w3nWmA4HDMx3UxF30/s1600-h/DSCN1411.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFf-2q5Llxu2yKt-8y51DgSBWsuedQx2bcy10exNVXTEgZqnVjNTl27IrGKb0wrW3LWGfjNUbWSO9Mbmsj-Nh8HHhyfwHfK3ize9GG1tLS0elVgSy6efcNK926zw0w3nWmA4HDMx3UxF30/s400/DSCN1411.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5402897990000302242" border="0" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-19161292551969110572009-09-21T17:20:00.000-07:002009-09-21T18:03:16.785-07:00It's a Boy!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdd4EKpptNH5f4sDiYJ0MDaUURwAjSnY4aIFLz7aqVpDYIOFXDiJMvhjMLfxZaXLsra6xVxJ2Z6s4FRfzuyirvrUmJPZH3hUUBmVRJq_tvdCmf95G_cEBL9XzB2FkCkeWFNXWSWqKSzPMy/s1600-h/yhst-52451168843117_2039_330341.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 187px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdd4EKpptNH5f4sDiYJ0MDaUURwAjSnY4aIFLz7aqVpDYIOFXDiJMvhjMLfxZaXLsra6xVxJ2Z6s4FRfzuyirvrUmJPZH3hUUBmVRJq_tvdCmf95G_cEBL9XzB2FkCkeWFNXWSWqKSzPMy/s400/yhst-52451168843117_2039_330341.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5384090216444685378" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Apologies for my short absence, I tried to warn you I was entering a month long wedding marathon. We captured this shot about a mile and a half past our friend's wedding venue in Windham, NY. Tucked away into this beautiful little Catskills town, the wedding was "country" but elegant and warm. There were so many fun and person details, I failed to capture ( blame it on a poor camera and even poor-er judgment with my cocktails :). But,<a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/09/september-is-new-may.html"> like I said</a>, each wedding is an opportunity for me to get some fresh inspiration. SO what did I learn at this wedding? TONS! Here's a list of the mishaps the bride had to deal with:<br /><br />1. Pouring rain- after spending months clearing out a section of woods on their property and constructing a beautiful alter our of tree branches and flowers the rain forced us under a huge tent for the ceremony and reception. Additionally, the rain made the pig roast and bar be que a little less dramatic. Finally, and possibly most tragic, all of the lawn games they had hand painted were not really usable.<br /><br />2. Unseasonably cold weather- bridesmaids in halter top dresses, strapless for the bride, and guest without appropriate coverage.<br /><br />3. No power- power went out during the ceremony, so no mics or music. They did regain power for the reception, but lost it right in the middle of their first dance!<br /><br />If even one of these things happened to me, I would be in shambles. Or at least I think I would. The funny thing is - from looking at the bride you would think it was all part of the plan. She looked calm and chill all night. The bride and groom seemed to throughly enjoy their wedding and did not get caught up in the small stuff. I have to say- it was the most inspirational thing I could have seen. Congrats to the wonderful couple.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-72308954998857895052009-09-14T19:28:00.000-07:002009-09-14T19:51:38.919-07:00Meeting JToday I had my Jcrew appointment at the <a href="http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WeddingParties/Wedding_Resources/weddingspecialists.jsp">"i do" desk</a>. My main goal was to get an up close and personal look at the fabrics, quality, and cuts of some the dresses I have been looking at online. Overall, I have to say it was a very successful visit. I still feel confidant that I will chose Jcrew for my girl's dresses, but will make some slight adjustment to <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/07/showing-off-goods.html">my plans :</a><br /><br />1. I will not choose Light Chartreuse.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.oneof365.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Cotton-cady-Erica-Dress-225-99.99-light-chartreuse.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 376px; height: 318px;" src="http://www.oneof365.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Cotton-cady-Erica-Dress-225-99.99-light-chartreuse.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>It is WAY more green that you would imagine. Think highlighter. Luckily, I will not even have the option to select this hue, it is discontinued. Thank goodness I did not go through with my plan of buying all the dresses on sale for my girls.<br /><br />2. I will add this pretty lady to the three choices:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaB5p9WSs-OX0-rG5G0IJFwaVyOejWd_zh10w5wAuil4-xn_MvpZTINYl6C09G1JGCw26wuUbOhy1X4DtOSAHauL-ioziJS5WJtmYZ6KW5s901Pt5GS2Mj6PQ8Ytu1368Xrx6WSN5TVxfi/s1600-h/erez.htm"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 393px; height: 393px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaB5p9WSs-OX0-rG5G0IJFwaVyOejWd_zh10w5wAuil4-xn_MvpZTINYl6C09G1JGCw26wuUbOhy1X4DtOSAHauL-ioziJS5WJtmYZ6KW5s901Pt5GS2Mj6PQ8Ytu1368Xrx6WSN5TVxfi/s400/erez.htm" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381518953405158610" border="0" /></a>I originally thought it would look out of place with my other structured choices, but in person it was much less "flowy" . Plus it is super duper flattering.<br /><br /><br /><br />3. This girl is one hot shorty:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkpqlz_b3jw-gV-gY2ylSzKoayb3wUJwNImso8oMwOtmxFsbmc1Ub6i-UD4TwU3VEGC9e2_V-da38kmJqrHqgpT4ngaPLh7Wqn_QHZy8jKN6pjYUU8h7awd42bRl6Y7C4LIK_ufu_Y5Rc8/s1600-h/erez.htm"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 393px; height: 393px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkpqlz_b3jw-gV-gY2ylSzKoayb3wUJwNImso8oMwOtmxFsbmc1Ub6i-UD4TwU3VEGC9e2_V-da38kmJqrHqgpT4ngaPLh7Wqn_QHZy8jKN6pjYUU8h7awd42bRl6Y7C4LIK_ufu_Y5Rc8/s400/erez.htm" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381519880106293810" border="0" /></a><br />I mean it. I'm 5'2" and this dress fell above my knee. Don't even ask what it looked like on my 5'10" maid of honor. This is part of the reason I am adding Serena to this mix.<br /><br /><br />4. Cotton Cady , pronouced ca-dee, is the perfect light weight material for the summer.<br /><br /><br />All in all a lovely visit.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-18064040237523613372009-09-12T05:09:00.001-07:002009-09-12T05:29:47.720-07:00September is the New MayRemember that scene in Wedding Crashers when Vince Vaughn announces that its wedding season. I pretty sure they were talking about May. Well, that scene just happened in my apartment except we were talking about September. We have four weddings in September, which basically works out to be one each weekend. Talk about wedding fatigue. Now, don' get me wrong - we love our friends and family and couldn't be happier that they are including us in their celebrations. It's just that I would never expect September to be so chock full of loving unions. The nice thing is all of my weddings have a very different feel ( and guest list so I can recycle my dress- woot woot). One of the things I love about going to weddings while planning my own is the inspirations!! Its like a blog come to life. I also study all the little details like the transportation from ceremony to reception or the order of the toasts to get ideas. Here's the four different weddings I'll be attending<br /><br />1. A outdoor wedding in the <a href="http://www.catskilllodge.com/">Catskill Mountain</a>s- we were instructed to wear comfortable shoes, so I can only imagine what they have in store for us.<br /><br />2. A<a href="http://www.cityclerk.nyc.gov/html/marriage/marriage_bureau.shtml"> City Hall Wedding</a> followed by a dinner reception and Sunday brunch- very NYC and very dear to my heart as it is my Brother and Future Sister in Law's wedding<br /><br />3. Urban and Cool wedding at <a href="http://www.loft11.com/studio_450.html">Studio 450 </a>in NYC- the bride and groom have a great sense of style so I can't wait to see how it all pans out.<br /><br />4. Engagement Party in the Hamptons- Okay so this is not a wedding, but it is a wedding like function. Plus it is for my MOH and her wonderful girlfriend.<br /><br />I promise to return with loads of inspiration ideas. A good friend as chosen them for her maids and had nothing but great things to say about them. Their yellow is called "butter yellow"- a little light for me. Here's the basic dress:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.brandhabit.com/images/vendors/featured/dress_3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 420px; height: 420px;" src="http://www.brandhabit.com/images/vendors/featured/dress_3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Here's some of the different ways to wear them:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.polkadotbride.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/289-front.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 448px; height: 304px;" src="http://www.polkadotbride.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/289-front.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEan4zbWdwo_r0wQIELEmH6OVu6asiJZ6z9kPjI1L8ZzkSm-W4etSsCJHYolh8bYDUfyEHE8BWQqseZ9CA11MVOm_7AxebgsXgYTsApRVTdafP6SR_AoxlnqITIhA6_bcLj-FXpXr-BI0/s400/twobirds3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 272px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEan4zbWdwo_r0wQIELEmH6OVu6asiJZ6z9kPjI1L8ZzkSm-W4etSsCJHYolh8bYDUfyEHE8BWQqseZ9CA11MVOm_7AxebgsXgYTsApRVTdafP6SR_AoxlnqITIhA6_bcLj-FXpXr-BI0/s400/twobirds3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Although I am hoping to be a<a href="http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Navigation/Wedding.jsp"> JCrew Bride ,</a> I am keeping my options open. I have my JCrew bridal appointment next Monday . I have this overwhelming fear that I will hate all of the JCrew dresses and have to start from scratch. If this is the case, I would definitely consider two birds. Did you have a back up plan? What do you make of the one size fits all ?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6947322024099822425.post-17455378707819790192009-09-09T17:41:00.001-07:002009-09-10T18:49:10.689-07:00Our Bridge Part II<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL9G-WG09TKgmSS-1nHmBHQTh5fh5TmuDfhKIhLaleEIbUC7FLVuVX7OO5ctMQqkHMSPgddpWNCpe-vG8XIwfsnq760r8jVVFRSbx6ERC9G7eqG3xO7ly1QV2rQTLXAhYRLy-G8eL41aRx/s1600-h/DSCN0496.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 225px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL9G-WG09TKgmSS-1nHmBHQTh5fh5TmuDfhKIhLaleEIbUC7FLVuVX7OO5ctMQqkHMSPgddpWNCpe-vG8XIwfsnq760r8jVVFRSbx6ERC9G7eqG3xO7ly1QV2rQTLXAhYRLy-G8eL41aRx/s400/DSCN0496.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379645469519840802" border="0" /></a><br />I thought it would be a good time to continue the story of our wedding <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/08/great-bridge.html">theme</a> . I already shared <a href="http://myyellowwedding.blogspot.com/2009/09/our-bridge.html">Part I </a>of the story of our bridge. I left off by saying, the bridge would soon be the site of a great celebration. Let me set the scene.<br /><br />Early in 2008, the Mr. and I took the big step of co-habitation. We moved from our separate apartments in Hoboken to our lovely abode in Brooklyn. It was a big move for us both. For the Mr., it meant a job change and for me it was a return to my childhood neighborhood. Luckily, after a long and arduous process of combining furniture and belongings we settled in to our beautiful apartment. Many of my friends had warned me that moving in together would be the death knell for our relationship, but living together was surprisingly complication free. To be fair, it wasn't a decision we took lightly. We waited until the time was right and had <span style="font-style: italic;">many</span> conversations about our needs and wants from our new life together. So needless to say, I was beginning to suspect big things were comming.<br /><br />Flash forward to May 2008, the 125th Anniversary of the <a href="http://www.newyorkology.com/archives/2008/05/broklyn_bridge.php">Brooklyn Bridge</a>. The city was holding a public celebration at the foot of the bridge complete with Brooklyn's own <a href="http://www.grucci.com/indexhome.html">Grucci Brother's</a> fireworks display, red velvet cake, and a light show! We decided to go , after all we had become bridge connoisseurs. It as a beautiful spring night and we arrived earlier enough to get a perfect viewing spot right on the water. Just as dusk fell the fireworks started and I held my breath....<br /><br />and managed to capture this video:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzC9GzWECdN70LYbunJxg4RM0fviSKPbRdgY_x78dQ3QteNqcJTl1j3XpCpCejeJXA_7RgRlAqUkvgHBMH1eA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />Notice anything???<br /><br />I didn't think so. If watch close you will watch my fiane MISS the perfect proposal moment!! The Bridge. The spring night. The fireworks. No ring. No proposal.<br /><br />Man, did I feel foolish.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV7QlJm53aojoYO8JGl7GThawornaHb12s_nc3nFS6tU4IeyuuQu8EdWZ1c1I5m0o0x0aF2ggbHBvJz35tW7oww9Mxs7dRK5RRlgjj7tfagVwQm8cqlpGr4JRVnd2WcVQDYpQgJAe_nvR4/s1600-h/DSCN0488.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 225px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV7QlJm53aojoYO8JGl7GThawornaHb12s_nc3nFS6tU4IeyuuQu8EdWZ1c1I5m0o0x0aF2ggbHBvJz35tW7oww9Mxs7dRK5RRlgjj7tfagVwQm8cqlpGr4JRVnd2WcVQDYpQgJAe_nvR4/s400/DSCN0488.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379645904366840434" border="0" /></a>See my fake smile.
